Yankee Magazine Names Rosewood Country Inn

Yankee Magazine named the Rosewood Country Inn of the very best reasons to stick around New England for the winter. They said "there's no better time to find a romantic inn. We all know this truth: If you're with a person you love and you're loved in return, anyplace that's warm and clean can create a romantic getaway. But there are a number of special places that define "romantic".

A big "thank you" to Yankee Magazine!

Plan a "Winter Wonderland" Wedding!

Winter-themed weddings can be uber chic and ethereal – an absolute wonderland, if you will. Get inspired with a few of our seasonable ideas by eleGala.com

Winter-Themed Weddings – Things To Consider
Inclement Weather Depending on your wedding location, winter weather can be particularly hairy. If so, don’t force your guests to walk too far or spend considerable time outside. Dress the wedding party (including yourself) in seasonably warm attire.
Holidays Remember that the action-packed holiday season and higher travel costs make it potentially inconvenient for guests to attend a December or early January wedding, but because many people are off between Christmas and New Year’s, a midweek wedding could work. Either way, book your date and spread the word early.

Old Store Museum in South Sutton

History: A Family Business Remembered

The Wells Family and the Old Store Museum

By John Walters

Photos by Paul Howe and Laura Jean Whitcomb

This bright red wooden building used to be the heart of a rural New Hampshire town. Now, its two rooms are chock full of memories and mementoes, reflections of an era gone by. South Sutton’s general store, “George G. Wells Company” by name, is now the Old Store Museum. “The post office was right in that corner, and the rest of this was merchandise of various kinds,” says George Wells. “We sold everything. Groceries, meat, eggs, coffee, tea, dry goods, clothes, wallpaper, paint, hardware, farm implements, everything. If somebody needed a bathtub, we would order it through a wholesaler in Concord. The storekeeper was the guy who took care of the village.” He should know; the now 84-year-old Wells spent much of his childhood in the store, which was the family business for many decades.
